John W. Hinkle Sr., 77, of Grove City, Ohio, died August 7, 2024 in the Woodlands of Columbus.

He was born October 1, 1946, in Wheeling, West Virginia, son of the late Harry and Sarah Smith Hinkle.

John was a 1964 graduate of St. Clairsville High School and a retired truck driver. He was a member of the Groveport Zion Lutheran Church. John served in the U.S. Army Reserves. He was a lay minister at Bethel and Concord Presbyterian Churches. Riding horses, hunting and reading were a few of his favorite things. He was a member of the Groveport Moose Lodge.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Sharon Ann Bailey Hinkle; a son, Mikol Moore; and two brothers, Edward and Albert Hinkle.

John is survived by his children, John W. (Robin Jeanne) Hinkle Jr. and Stacie (Nick) Arnold; grandchildren, John W. "T.J." Hinkle III and Wyatt Arnold; nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will be received at the Toothman Funeral Home in Jacobsburg, Ohio, on Monday, August 12th from 12 p.m. until time of service at 4 p.m., with Pastor Kurt Turner officiating.  A private burial will be held in Greenwood Cemetery, Key, Ohio.
