William A. Roberts, 86, of St. Clairsville, Ohio, died November 29, 2021, at Wheeling Hospital.

He was born February 22, 1935, in Crawford Heights, Belmont County, Ohio, a son of the late Gernard M. Roberts and Freda Bauknecht Roberts.

Bill was a former Ohio State Highway Patrolman and retired as an insurance adjuster for CNA Insurance Company in Columbus. He was a U.S. Army veteran having served in the 1 ^st Infantry Division from October 1955 to October 1957. He was a member of the Bible Students Association.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Jerry A. Roberts.

Surviving are his loving wife of 62 years, Edna M. Richardson Roberts; three children, William E. (Stephanie Wingrove) Roberts of Hudson, Ohio, Lori Ann (Jeffrey) McDonald of Hilliard, Ohio, and Mary Ann Roberts of St. Clairsville; a brother, Thomas A. Roberts of Colerain, Ohio; and five grandchildren, Mark and Matthew Roberts, Madison, Ross, and Alexa McDonald.

Visitation will be held at Toothman Funeral Home in St. Clairsville on Saturday starting at noon. Services will follow at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Jerry Wenger officiating. Burial will be held in Union Cemetery, St. Clairsville.
