William Albert Hendershot, 83, of St. Clairsville, OH, died Thursday March 17, 2016 at Wheeling Hospital.
He was born February 20, 1933 in Bellaire, Ohio son of the late Albert Hendershot and Olive Pittman Hendershot Clifford.
Bill was a retired employee from Ormet Corporation. He was a member of Thoburn United Methodist Church; a member of the former St. Clairsville Lions Club; a member of Weyer Lodge # 541 F. & A.M. Centerville; a member of Hazelwood Hills Boat Club and the St. Clairsville Recreation Dept. Board of Directors.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Jimmy Hendershot, a half-brother, Ralph Hendershot; and stepfather, Russell Clifford.
Surviving are his loving wife, Phyllis Johnson Hendershot; ten children, Cathy (Brian) DaRe of Rayland, Rusty (Lori) Hendershot of St. Clairsville, David (Sandee) Hendershot of Moundsville, WV, Nancy (Greg) Johnson of Bellaire, Terri (Dave) Leadenham of Virginia Beach, VA, Michael (Mary) Hendershot of St. Clairsville, Jody Hendershot of Bethesda, Jimmy Benda of Shadyside, Scott Hendershot of St. Clairsville and Todd (Jody Bickmeyer) Benda of St. Clairsville; a half-sister, Beverly Ramsay; twenty-four grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren.
Family and friends will be received at Toothman Funeral Home in St. Clairsville on Saturday from 4 to 8 p.m., where services will be held on Sunday at 2 p.m. with Rev. Kenneth Gifford officiating.
Masonic Funeral Services will be held on Saturday at 7:45 p.m.
