William Harry Britton, Jr., 76 of Barnesville-Bethesda Rd., Barnesville, Ohio formerly of Centerville died Friday, January 11, 2008 at Barnesville Hospital.

He was born February 20, 1931 in Powhatan Point, a son of the late William Harry Britton, Sr. and Lulu Gallaher Britton.

He was a former employee of North American Coal Company?s No. 3 Mine and retired from Belmont County Engineer?s Bridge Crew, Lloydsville Garage.

Surviving are his wife, Mildred West Britton; sons, Carl Russell (Rita) Britton and Rodney (Susan) Britton both of Ashland, KY.; brother, Delbert Eugene Britton of New Castle, Ohio; adoptive brother, Harry Joe Mathers of Powhatan Point; three grandchildren, Melody Jo Carpenter, Jesse Ray Britton, and Josh Britton; great granddaughter, Serina Ann Britton; former daughter-in-law, Denise Britton of Belmont.

Friends will be received on Sunday from 2 to 4 & 7 to 9 p.m. at Toothman Funeral Home, Jacobsburg where services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday with Rev. Don Cordery officiating. Burial follows in Holly Memorial Gardens, Pleasant Grove.
