William L. "Bill" Blon, age 73, of Stewartsville, died Thursday, August 10, 2006 at Belmont Community Hospital in Bellaire. He was born October 29, 1932 in Stewartsville, Ohio, son of the late Leslie "Pete" and Delcie Clear Blon.

Bill was a retired employee from the former Rodefer-Gleason Glass Co. in Bellaire; he was a former employee of the Bellaire City Hospital for 22 years; he was a member of the First Christian Church in Wheeling where he served as a sexton and was in charge of maintenance.

In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by brothers, Fred and Jack Blon.

He is survived by his wife, Anna Beatty Blon; six children, Sharon Sue Gatten of Hagerstown, Maryland, William L. Blon Jr. of Cadiz, David Eugene Blon of Bethesda, Delcie Ann Blon of Weirton, John Michael Blon of Neffs, and Dorthea L. Orr of Bethesda; two brothers, Gerald "Joe" Blon and John Blon both of Stewartsville; a sister, Marilyn Kemper of Key Ridge; 8 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.

Private services held at the convenience of the family. Arrangements by Toothman Funeral Home in St. Clairsville.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association or the First Christian Church in Wheeling.
