William Charles Abraham (CLU, ChFC) died Wednesday, February 7, 2018 at his home in St. Clairsville, OH. He was 78.
Born June 13, 1939 in Latrobe, Pa., "Bill" was the son of Jean Biller Abraham and the late William Albert Abraham.
He was a graduate of Triadelphia High School and Washington & Jefferson College where he was a member of Phi Delta Theta Fraternity. He was a Second Lieutenant in the United State Army and was employed for 40 years as a special and district agent for the Northwestern Mutual Life Insurance Company. He was a member and past President of the St. Clairsville Rotary Club, and a member and past President of the St. Clairsville Jaycees. Bill was a talented woodworker and avid outdoorsman.
Bill is survived by his mother, Jean Biller Abraham; his beloved wife of 52 years, Mary Ann Abraham (West); a son, William Allen Abraham (Heather) of Columbus, GA; a daughter Betsy Delk (David) of Wheeling, WV; a brother Tom Abraham (Sue) of Wheeling; a sister Gretchen Dettamore of Huntington WV; grandchildren, Abigail, Emma, Merritt, Aidan, Rowan and Finley; several nieces and nephews; and fishing buddy Steve Coyne.
A special thanks to Dr. Thomas Przybysz and all current and former physicians and staff of the Schiffler Cancer Center who cared for and befriended Bill.
Family and friends will be received on Sunday, February 11, 2018 from 2-6 p.m. at Toothman Funeral Home, 141 S. Marietta St, St. Clairsville OH.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, February 12, 2018 at 11 a. m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church, St. Clairsville, OH, with Father Edward Maxfield the celebrant.
