Obituary

Fraley, Wayne Robert, 91, of Clover Ridge, Powhatan Point, Ohio, died Wednesday, May 6, 2009 at Belmont Community Hospital.

He was born May 3, 1918 on Clover Ridge Road, Beallsville, Ohio, son of the late Oliver and Arminta Carpenter Fraley.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Clyde and Tyrus Fraley of Beallsville and son-in-law, Jerry Lucas of Alledonia.

Surviving are his wife of 63 years, Helen Massie Fraley; daughter, Linda Lucas of Powhatan Point; 2 granddaughters, Lisa Baker of Barnesville and Tricia Lucas (Sam Baker) of Powhatan Point; 2 great grandchildren, Jeremy and Hailey Baker of Barnesville; 3 nieces, Joan (Albert) Caldwell of Jacobsburg, Margaret "Bird" (Larry) Skidmore of Powhatan Point and Shirley (John) Ferry of Leetonia, Ohio.

Wayne was a lifetime farmer and was retired from North American Coal Company after 42 years of service and was a member of U.M.W.A. #2262. He was a member of Grandview Christian Church. Wayne was an avid hunter, card player and joker who really loved life and loved to have fun. He will be very sadly missed by all his family, friends and neighbors and will be well remembered as a great husband, father, grandfather and friend to all who knew him.

Family and friends will be received at Toothman Funeral Home in Jacobsburg on Friday from 1 to 9 p.m., where services will be held on Saturday at 1 p.m. with Pastor George Coffman officiating. Burial will follow in Powhatan Cemetery.
