Walter Burton Worley, 71 of Pipe Creek Rd., Jacobsburg, Ohio died Sunday, October 10, 2004 in Belmont Community Hospital at Bellaire.
He was born October 21, 1932 at Pipe Creek, a son of the late James E. Worley and Mary B. Smith Worley.
Walter was a retired truck driver and mechanic, an Air Force veteran of the Korean War, Life member of the DAV in Bellaire, member of the Powhatan American Legion, he served as trustee of the Bellaire Clinic for 20 years and was the current president of Fair Housing of Belmont County.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, John and Eddie Worley and a sister, Gale Rushman.
Surviving are his wife, Gale Newell Worley; a son, James Worley of Senecaville; four daughters, Georgia Homko of Pipe Creek, Pam and Tam Worley at Home, and Mary Long of Jacobsburg; two sisters, Emma Rimel of Pipe Creek and Mary Lou Rushman of Columbus; 10 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren;
Friends will be received at the Toothman Funeral Home in Jacobsburg on Tuesday from 6 to 9 p.m. where services will be held on Wednesday at 1:00 p.m. Burial follows in Glencoe Cemetery.
Belmont County Council of American Legions will conduct services at 12:50 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home.
