Swider, Walter A., 84 of Fairpoint, Ohio died Sunday, August 24, 2008 at East Ohio Regional Hospital.
He was born July 29, 1924 in Fairpoint, a son of the late Joseph and Lucy Swider.
Walter was a retired employee of Cadiz Parts Warehouse in Cadiz, Ohio, a Navy veteran of WWII, a member of St. Joseph?s Catholic Church in Fairpoint, the Fairpoint Polish Club, and Fraternal Order of Eagles in Bridgeport.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Rose Supinski Swider; a brother, Frank Swider; a son-in-law, Harry Brado.
Surviving are two children, Ronald (Lynn) Swider and Kathleen (Bob) King of St. Clairsville; two sisters, Julie Teliga of St. Clairsville and Helen Dolfi of Rayland; a brother, Edward (Delores) Swider of Painesville, Ohio.; 10 grandchildren, Karri (Mark) Thomas, Maegan (Brad) Ater, Tricia (Justin) Kovalski, Alisa (Cory) Delguzzo, Todd (Kristen) Brado, Tanya (Mike) Mayberry, Grant Swider, Zack, Frank, and Rob King; 7 great grandchildren.
Friends will be received at Toothman Funeral Home in St. Clairsville on Monday from 3 to 8 p.m. A Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday at 10:15 a.m. at St. Joseph?s Church in Fairpoint with Father Thomas Graven the celebrant. Burial follows in Union Cemetery, St. Clairsville.
There will be a vigil service at 3:30 p.m. Monday in the funeral home.
