Obituary

Walter Jack "Vagu" Sikora, 81, of Martins Ferry, Ohio, passed away on Wednesday, October 2, 2024, at his home peacefully in his sleep. He was born November 21, 1942, in Maynard, Ohio, a son of the late Joseph John Sikora and Sophie Wolicki Sikora.

He was the world's best Uncle Bucky and a retired security guard for Pittsburgh Steel. He was a Catholic by faith, member of the former St. Stanislaus Church, Fairpoint Polish Club, and the Maynard PNA. He enjoyed watching the Ohio State Buckeyes, West Virginia Mountaineers, Pittsburgh Penguins, cars, and was an avid polka dancer.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sister, Agnes Wootchie; a niece, Lori Boncela; and his best friend, Lucille Dingey-Skrtich.

He is survived his brother, Joe Sikora; sister, Joyce Ferrell; niece, Serena Therrien; niece, Angela (Mike) Schweyer, their children Brandon and Isabella Schweyer; his dear friend, Collie; and lots of great nieces and nephews, Alexsis, Diedra, Taylor, Meeka, Zachary, and Damian, Avenleah, Emersyn, Rori, Rayne, Noel, Brayden, Zayden, Jacon Therrien, Jeremy, Brittany, Mckayla, Kayleigh, Laylah, Justyce, Jacek Evans, Nathan and Natalie Pennington.

A Memorial Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, October 12, 2024, at the New Heart Covenant Church (500 N. 5th Street Martins Ferry, Ohio 43935) beginning at 11 a.m.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Belmont County Animal Shelter.

Arrangements are entrusted to Toothman Funeral Home, St. Clairsville.
