Walter Frank "Buck" Kowalcyk, 79, of Maynard, Ohio died October 1, 2021, at Liza's Place in Wheeling.
He was born September 26, 1942, in Barton, Ohio a son of the late Walter and Mary Ludwig Kowalcyk.
Buck was a retired employee from Consolidation Coal Company, Oak Park Mine and McElroy Mine. He was a member of the former St. Stanislaus Catholic Church and St. Mary's Catholic Church. He enjoyed baseball and working on the farm. Buck was a member of the Maynard PNA Lodge #455, a life member of the Fairpoint Polish Club, the president and life member of the Maynard Sportsman's Club and a member of the UMWA.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Rose Marie Kowalcyk.
Buck is survived by his loving wife, Sandy Dunder Kowalcyk; a daughter, Christina (John) Gdula; a grandson, Matthew Gdula; two sisters, Joann Kokovich and Barbara Jean Hilling; a brother, Stanley "Buck" (Trudy) Kowalcyk; a sister-in-law, Julia "Bunny" Sickimich; a brother-in-law, Ron (Irene) Dunder; several nieces and a nephew.
Facial coverings are recommended. Family and friends will be received on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. with a PNA Service at 3:50 p.m. at the Toothman Funeral Home in St. Clairsville, Ohio, where services will be held on Monday at 11 a.m. with Father Thomas Chillog officiating.
