Wilma Mae Turkal, 89, of Belmont, Ohio died Thursday, November 5, 2020 at Belmont Manor Nursing Home.  She was born May 21, 1931 in Pultney Township, Ohio, a daughter of the late James Ollie and Mary Funkhouser Paskel.

Mae was retired from the St. Clairsville Richland City School District as a bus driver and also was employed by Riesbecks Food Market.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded by her husband, Matthew James Turkal; four sons, Larry Turkal, John Turkal, Terry Turkal and Roger Turkal; three brothers, Jerry Paskel, John Paskel and Michael Paskel.

Surviving are her sons, Randy (Karen) Turkal and Joseph (Sherry) Turkal both of Belmont; a daughter-in-law, Catherine Turkal of St. Clairsville; three sisters, Agatha Campbell of Florida, Marguerite Nolen of North Carolina and Darlene Bumgardner of St. Clairsville; grandchildren, Angie Huston, Karyn Turkal, Jessica Claring, Lisa Boyle, Brandi Taylor, Matthew Turkal, Courtney Himes and Joseph Turkal; 14 great-grandchildren.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, social distancing and masks are required.

Friends will be received on Tuesday from 2-4 & 6-8 pm at Toothman Funeral Home, St. Clairsville with private funeral services on Wednesday at 11 am with Rev. Diane Jefchak officiating.  Burial will follow in Warnock Cemetery.
