Virginia E. Fitch, 81, of Belmont, died Thursday, April 29, 2004 at Belmont Community Hospital, Bellaire. She was born on February 14, 1923 at New Castle, OH, daughter of the late David Granville Dunfee and Esther Melinda Secrest Dunfee.

She was a retired cook from Bell Nursing Home at Morristown and a member of the Centerville Christian Church where she had been a member of the Choir.

In addition to her parents, Virginia was preceded in death by her husband Cecil M. Fitch; two sisters, Dorothy Beckett and Doris Bayardi; and a brother, David Dunfee.

Surviving are a son, Eugene C. Fitch and his wife, Sandy Hall Fitch of Cameron, OH; a daughter, Betty A. Statler of Centerville; a sister, Janette "Marjorie" Weekley of Rocky Creek, OH; three grandchildren, Dawna Fitch Grubb and her husband Darren, James D. Statler III and Melinda Ann Statler; three great grandchildren, Darrien Grubb, James Andrew Statler and Elizabeth Rose Barath.

Family and friends will be received at Toothman Funeral Home in Jacobsburg, Friday, April 30th from 7 to 9 p.m. and again on Saturday, May 1, 2004 from 12 Noon until time of services at 1 p.m. with Joe Lorimor officiating. Burial will follow at Holly Memorial Gardens, Pleasant Grove.
