Virginia A. Alderman of St. Clairsville, Ohio died July 27, 2018 at her home.
She was born in Lexington, Massachusetts on March 22
nd
a daughter of the late James Comman and Margurite "Rita" Moore Comman.
Virginia was co-owner and operator of Alderman Airport and was an accomplished licensed pilot. She was a co-creator of Jamboree In The Hills. Writing was one of her many passions, and she was a published author. Some of her writing endeavors included a column, "Wings Over The Valley," for the Times Leader and articles for Country Song Roundup Magazine, and she penned a History of Jamboree USA. Virginia was also a member of East Richland Evangelical Friends Church.
In addition to her parents, Virginia was preceded in death by her husband, Guy A. Alderman.
Surviving are her four children, Leslie K. Alderman of St. Clairsville, Jennifer L. Alderman (Albert M. Erwin) of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Randall M. (Lori A.) Alderman and Curtis W. Alderman both of St. Clairsville; a granddaughter, Whitney Alderman of Los Angeles; a sister, Elizabeth (Harry) Miller of Belmont; several nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will be received at East Richland Friends Church on Thursday from 10 a.m. until time of Service at 1 p.m. with Rev. Wayne Ickes officiating. Burial will follow in Richland Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to Toothman Funeral Home in St. Clairsville.
Virginia loved all animals and wildlife, especially horses. In Lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to the Belmont County Animal Shelter.
