Obituary

Virgil Lee Hoffman, 78, formerly of St. Clairsville, Ohio, died December 8, 2022, at Astoria Place in Cambridge, Ohio.

He was born January 7, 1944, in Bellaire, Ohio, a son of the late Clarence Virgil Hoffman and Margaret Ann Baker Hoffman.

Lee was a retired employee of Clevite Corporation. He was a U.S. Army veteran serving during the Vietnam War. He was a member of the Church of Christ and the American Legion Post #159 both in St. Clairsville.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Derek Hoffman; three brothers, Merle, Charles and Kermit Hoffman and a sister, Karen Sue Morgan.

Lee is survived by his son, Rich (Erika) Hoffman of Cambridge, Ohio, two granddaughters, Ava and Lily Hoffman; Charlene Hoffman and nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will be received on Sunday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Toothman Funeral Home in St. Clairsville, where services will be held on Monday at 11 a.m., with Rev. Dr. Jerry Wenger officiating. Burial will follow in Union Cemetery, St. Clairsville.

Full Military Honors will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday in the funeral home by the Belmont County Veterans Association.
