Virgil Jennings Beal Jr., 77 of Lafferty, Ohio passed away Wednesday, January 31, 2007 in Wheeling Hospital.

He was born November 1, 1929 at Canton, Ohio, a son of the late Virgil Beal Sr. and Jane Simmons Beal.

Virgil was a retired coal truck driver and mechanic for Ohio River Colliers Coal Co. He enjoyed amateur radio for many years (call sign k8vb).

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Alton Parker Beal.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Rose Marie Melchiori Beal; a loving daughter, Naomi June Calovini and her husband Tom Calovini of Westerville, Ohio; a sister, Iona Mae Jendrusik of Midway, Ohio, and brothers, James Beal of Lafferty, Ohio, David (Judy) Beal of New Athens, Ohio, and Edward (Jan) Beal of West Lafayette, Ohio.

There will be no visitation. Family and friends are invited to attend a memorial service on Saturday, February 10th at 2:00 p.m. at the Harbor of Hope Church on Route 9 South, St. Clairsville.

The family requests no flowers please. Memorial contributions may be made on Virgil?s behalf to the Better Breathers at East Ohio Regional Hospital in Martins Ferry or to a charity of the donor?s choice.
