Verna Mae Snively Crooks, age 69, of Barnesville, formerly of Belmont Ridge, Beallsville, died Tuesday, August 5, 2003 at East Ohio Regional Hospital, Martins Ferry. She was born September 8, 1933 at Somerset, PA, daughter of the late Hiram and Naomi Sleasman Snively.
She was a member of the Belmont Ridge Christian Church.
In addition to her parents, Verna was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Edman Crooks; and two brothers, Harvey and Robert Snively.
Surviving are two sons, Edward Crooks of Salesville, OH and Doyle Crooks of Barnesville; a daughter, Penny Huntsman of Barnesville; a brother, Elmer Snively of Wooster; two sisters, Lila Ruschak of Alledonia and Nada Keylor of Woodsfield; and six grandchildren.
Family and friends will be received at Toothman Funeral Home in Jacobsburg on Friday, August 8, 2003, from 2 to 4 and 6 until time of services at 8 p.m. with Wayne Clark officiating. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family in Belmont Ridge Cemetery, Beallsville, Ohio.
