Verla Jean Usenick, 81, of Glencoe, Ohio, died on her wedding anniversary, Wednesday, October 4, 2017 in Wheeling Hospital.
She was born December 30, 1935 in Armstrongs Mills, Ohio, daughter of the late Harold and Dorothy Hicks Boston.
Jean was retired co- owner of Jean's Carry-Out in Glencoe and a member of Glencoe Volunteer Fire Dept. Auxiliary.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 64 years, Limpford âLindyã Usenick; foster daughter, Theresa Stanley; a son-in-law, Ghee Macy; a granddaughter, Michelle Johnson; a brother, Donald and six sisters, Marilyn, Carolyn, Nancy, Linda, Janet and Joann.
Jean is survived by her six children, Michael (Jody) Usenick, Cheryl (Scott) Merkins, James (Anita) Usenick, Denny (Cindy) Usenick, William (Darlene) Usenick and Steven (Heather Campbell) Usenick; a sister, Evelyn Scott; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grand children; nieces, nephews, cousins and special friend and caretaker, Lisa.
Family and friends will be received on Friday from 2-4 and 6-9 p.m. at Toothman Funeral Home in Jacobsburg, Ohio where visitation will again be held on Saturday from Noon until time of service at 1 p.m. with Rev. Ray Benesh officiating. Interment follows in Warnock Cemetery.
