Obituary
Vera Elizabeth Heightland, 93, of Powhatan Point, Ohio died Monday, February 16, 2015 in Bluffton, South Carolina.
She was born April 30, 1921 in Armstrongs Mills, Ohio, a daughter of the late Frank Ray Gast and Luella Davis Gast.
Vera was a retired employee of Shadyside Care Center and a member of Powhatan Point Church of the Nazarene.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Benny Smith; several brothers and sisters.
Surviving are her children, Mike Smith of Powhatan Point, Rose Rodewald of Mentor, Ohio, Frank Gillespie of Bellaire, Ronald Gillespie of Coral Springs, FL, Don Gillespie of Bluffton, SC, George Heightland of Powhatan Point, Roy Heightland of Bluffton, SC, and Dan Heightland of Bluffton, SC; many grand, great grand, and great great grandchildren.
Friends will be received at the Powhatan Point Church of the Nazarene on Friday from 9 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m. with Rev. William B. Coker, Jr. and Rev. Don Lawson officiating.
Burial follows in Armstrong Cemetery, Armstrongs Mills, Ohio.
