White, Velma Earlene "Alabam", 86 of St. Clairsville, Ohio passed away on Saturday, November 28, 2009 at Park Health Center in St. Clairsville.

She was born April 30, 1923 in Moulton, Alabama, a daughter of the late Roe Roberson and Dixie Addie B. Roberson.

She was a member of the Church of Christ in St. Clairsville, an oil painter, a hunter in her earlier years, she loved to fish and imparted these talents to her children and grandchildren, and she loved her country.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her first husband, Ralph Sutton; a brother, Almon Roberson, a sister, Cliffie Knoblauch, and cherished nephew, Henry Knoblauch; a step son, Jack Eugene White.

She is survived by her husband, William White; a daughter, Nancy (Tom) Jordan of West Hartford, CT.; a son, Ralph (Paula) Sutton of Decatur, AL; grandchildren, Michael (Allison) Amenabar of West Hartford, CT., Thomas (Amber) Jordan of Newington, CT., Kimberly Amenabar Lisher and her husband Jon of Avon, CT., Todd Sutton of Decatur, AL., and Wade Sutton of Philadelphia, PA.; great grandchildren, Bailey, William, Cooper Amenabar, Madeline and Lily Rose Jordan; step children, Benjamin Nelson White of Mingo Junction, William Boyd White of Morristown, Vivian Elaine Clary of St. Albans, WV. She also leaves her beloved friend Helen Pinnick, who was a great friend and neighbor in her later years of life.

Friends will be received at Toothman Funeral Home in St. Clairsville on Tuesday from 10 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m. with Everett Hutson officiating. Burial follows in Holly Memorial Gardens, Pleasant Grove.
