Trudy Lee Kowalcyk, 75, of Maynard Ohio passed away on February 9th, 2024, at her home.

She was born January 11,1949, in Wheeling WV. A daughter of the late Louise Riddle Josefczyk and Clarence Richard Josefczyk.

Trudy lived life a life filled with love, laughter, and a passion for making those around her feel special and loved. She was a dedicated retired Registered Nurse of over 40 years. Her career included working at OVMC in Wheeling, Barnesville Hospital, Bethesda Hospital in Zanesville, Ohio, Wheeling Downs Racetrack, Park Health Center in St. Clairsville, Sunset Healthcare, Harrisville and as a private duty nurse in the Tri-State area.

She had an unwavering commitment to her work and her meticulous attention to detail earned her the respect and admiration of her patients, their families, and her colleagues.

She was a co-owner and operator of Buck & Trudy's Cheers in Maynard Ohio, where she would cook many special meals for Hunting season, golf scrambles and many other community get-togethers.

She loved spending time with her family and her many friends. Traveling with her beloved husband, and best friend "Buck." She found joy in cooking, baking, and bowling where she participated in many leagues in her younger years and spare time at St. Clair Lanes.

Trudy had a heart full of compassion and an affectionate spirit. She had a special place in her heart for rescuing animals, especially cats.

Her greatest joy was being a grandma to her beloved and adored granddaughter, Kalista J'lyse. She spent countless hours watching J'lyse dance in many ballet performances and recitals for Oglebay Institute School of Dance and Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre.

Trudy was a member of the Maynard United Methodist Church, where she enjoyed and attended many UMC Women events with her beloved late mother, Louise.

Trudy will be deeply missed. She is survived by her loving husband of 55 years, Stanley "Buck" Kowalcyk; her daughter, Kimberlee( Jay) Kafana; granddaughter J'lyse Kafana with fiancée, Josh Crawford; two sisters, Diane(Don) Getman and Jill (Gary) Scypta; Aunt Rita (Laney) Walters; Uncle Bob Riddle; Sister In-laws, Joann Kokovich, Barbara Hilling, Sandy Kowalcyk; nieces, nephews, cousins; and many friends) Lisa and Robin) and her two rescued cats Bo and Sophie.

Family and friends are invited to visitation and celebration of life at the Toothman Funeral Home in St. Clairsville Ohio on Monday March 4th, from 3pm until time of service at 4:30 pm, with Scott Black officiating.
