Obituary

Wilmoth, Tressie P., 80, of St. Clairsville, devoted wife of 60 years, died peacefully October 6, 2008 in Belmont Manor Nursing Home just one week following the death of her husband, Benton M. Wilmoth, Jr. Tressie was a wonderful mother and doting grandmother. Her energy and sense of adventure was an inspiration to all who knew her.

She was born August 18, 1928 in Bolt, West Virginia, daughter of the late Perry and Grace Dickens Snuffer.

Tressie was a member of East Richland Friends Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Benton M. Wilmoth, Jr.; a brother, Ewell Snuffer; three sisters, Myrtle Pendell, Ocie Williams and Blanche Suldo.

Surviving are her children, Benton (Barbara) Wilmoth of Marysville, Ohio, Susan Savage of Downers Grove, Illinois and Linda (Brian) Landis of Dublin, Ohio; and five grandchildren, Benton Wilmoth IV and Katherine Wilmoth both working in Washington, DC, J. T. Long a junior at O.U., Stuart Long a high school senior in Dublin and Zach Savage a high school senior in Downers Grove.

Family and friends will be received on Thursday from 6 to 9 p.m. at Toothman Funeral Home in St. Clairsville, where there will be a joint funeral service held Friday at 11 a.m. with Rev. Wayne Ickes officiating. Graveside services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. in Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery, Beckley, West Virginia.
