Novak, Thomas Joseph, Sr., 82 of Blaine-Barton Rd., St. Clairsville, Ohio died Wednesday, May 6, 2009 at Forest Hill Nursing Home, St. Clairsville.
He was born at Adena, Ohio on June 24, 1926. He was the son of Joseph Kendziorski and Mary Novak Kendziorski.
Tom was a retired employee of Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel, Yorkville Plant. He was a member of the former All Saints Catholic Church at Blaine. He was an avid bowler participating in leagues at St. Clair Lanes and the Rose Bowl in Elm Grove and was an Army veteran of World War II.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Julia Fern Cain Novak; a son, Thomas J. Novak, Jr.; a grandson, Thomas William Novak and a granddaughter, Jessica Novak.
He is survived by a daughter, Melody P. (Bob) Johnson of St. Clairsville; a son, Robert L. (Gwendolyn) Novak of Wheeling; a daughter-in-law, Chris Novak; 7 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
Friends will be received at the Toothman Funeral Home, St. Clairsville, Ohio on Friday from 2 to 4 & 6 to 8 p.m. Military Honors will conducted at 8 p.m. by the Belmont County Council of the American Legion. Private burial will be at Holly Memorial Gardens at the convenience of the family.
