Thomas V. McGough, Sr., 87 of East Main St., St. Clairsville died Tuesday, March 9, 2004 at Wheeling Hospital.
He was born July 22, 1916 in Belmont, a son of the late Harry D. McGough and Helen Mayhew McGough.
He was a retired employee of the Ohio Department of Transportation, a member of St. Mary?s Catholic Church in St. Clairsville, an Army veteran of WWII and a lifetime member of St. Clairsville VFW Post 5356 and Bridgeport American Legion Post 227.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, William H. McGough; and a sister, Dorothy Blackford.
Surviving are his wife, Winifred O?Malley McGough; three sons, Thomas Virgil McGough, Jr. of Bethesda, Michael McGough and his wife Marianne of St. Clairsville, and John Patrick McGough and his wife Barbara of Bellaire; a sister, Jane Wagar of Pleasant Hills, Ohio.; 2 grandchildren, Michael McGough of Chicago and Elizabeth Bortner of Virginia Beach, VA.; great grandson, Andrew Bryan Pent.
There will be no visitation. Family and friends are invited to attend a memorial mass at St. Mary?s Church in St. Clairsville on Friday, March 12, 2004 at 1:00 P.M. with Monsignor George Coyne the celebrant.
A private entombment service will be held at the convenience of the family in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Wheeling.
Belmont County Council of American Legions will conduct services at 12:50 p.m. Friday at the church.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary?s School, St. Clairsville, Ohio.
