Obituary

Thomas "Tom" Edward Lucas, age 80, of Powhatan Point, OH passed away peacefully at his home on Wednesday, January 31, 2018.

He was born June 10, 1937 in Armstrong Mills, OH, son of the late Earl and Luvada (Sindeldecker) Lucas.

Tom was an active member of the Amity United Methodist Church and a 1955 graduate of Beallsville High School where he was on the 8 man football team. He enjoyed attending the class reunions and reminiscing with former classmates.

He was retired from Ormet after 41 years of service. He enjoyed tinkering in the garage, working outside, woodworking, vintage cars, Gunsmoke, Mash, Andy Griffith, old country and bluegrass music, Johnny Cash, cookies, Louis L' Amour westerns, and Halls cough drops.

Tom was an animal lover and often joked that he liked animals better then people. He had a keen sense of humor and was a master at one liners.

Surviving are his loving wife of 60 years, Margie Saffell Lucas, 1 sister, Sandy Kinney of Grove City, OH. 3 children, Lynn (Gale) Huffman, of Powhatan, Mark (Lori) Lucas of Clarington and Eric(Tammy) Lucas of Powhatan; 7 cherished grandchildren, Erin Huffman, Lucas (Emily) Huffman, Larissa Longwell, Lakyn (Nate) Merrifield, Landyn Lucas, Lynnae (Casey) Orndorff and Logan Lucas; 8 adored great grandchildren, Brody, Brooklyn, Camryn, Carter, Korbin, Kahne, Braxton and Hayes. several nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received on Saturday, February 3rd at Amity United Methodist Church in Powhatan Point, from 10:00 am until time of service at 2 p.m. with Pastor Steve Rice and Rev. Michelle Lucarelli officiating.

Burial will follow at Powhatan Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to Amity United Methodist Church, Marshall County Animal Shelter, Parkinson's Disease Foundation, Valley Hospice.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to all of his caregivers from Valley Hospice & Just Right Home Care.
