Thomas W. Lucas, 71, of Centerville, went to be with the Lord November 14, 2022, after a brief illness.

Tom was born July 25, 1951, to the late Kenneth and Mary Edna Lucas. In addition to his parents, Tom was preceded in death by brothers, Roger Lucas (Ruth Ann) and Robert Lucas, a sister, Nancy Wilson, a granddaughter, Gracie Lynn Lucas and his father-in-law, Charles Foster.

He was a devout Christian, husband, father and grandfather. Tom and his wife Brenda had 46 wonderful years of marriage with two children, Kenny and Doug (Jennifer) Lucas. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, Logan, Andi, Sophia, and Tanner. Also surviving are his mother-in-law, Chloe Foster, sisters-in-law, Frances and Karen Lucas, a brother-in-law, Dale Wilson, and other in-laws.  Tom also has numerous nieces and nephews who he loved dearly.

Tom was a member of Centerville Christian Church where he served as an Elder and Sunday school teacher. He retired from Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel. Tom enjoyed spending time with the family, grilling, gardening, working around the house, and being on the beach and was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need.

Family and friends will be received on Saturday from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Toothman Funeral Home in St. Clairsville, Ohio, where visitation will again be held on Sunday from 12:30 p.m. until time of funeral service at 1:30 p.m., with Pastor Don Eberhart officiating. Burial will immediately follow in Concord Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Smith Township Volunteer Fire Dept. or the Centerville Senior Center.
