Obituary

GRIFFITHS, Thomas G., 70, of 129 N. Market St., St. Clairsville, Ohio, died Thursday, September 1, 2011 at home.

He was born in St. Clairsville on August 16, 1941, son of the late Thomas J. and Bernice Scott Griffiths.

Tom was retired from The Kroger Company in St. Clairsville. He is a member of First Christian Church in St. Clairsville; he was a U.S. Army veteran serving during the Vietnam War; a member of the American Legion Post 159 in St. Clairsville; a member and Past Master of Belmont Lodge # 16 F. & A.M. at St. Clairsville; Past Patron of St. Clairsville Chapter 510 Order of Eastern Star; he was a Knight of the York Cross of Honor; member of Royal Arch Masons of Ohio Bellaire Chapter 107 and Royal and Select Masons of Ohio Council 87 in Bellaire; and Hope Commandry K.T. #26 in Bridgeport; and the Belmont Better Hunting and Fishing Club.

In addition to his parents, Tom was preceded in death by two sisters, Patricia Trimpe and Ada Raymond.

Surviving are his wife, Barbara J. Bower Griffiths; a son, Thomas A. (Deleasa) Griffiths of Mifflin, Ohio; a daughter, Susan (Adrian Craig) Griffiths of St. Clairsville; a grandson, Nikalia "Niky"; three granddaughters, Faith, Adria and Ashawna.

Friends will be received at Toothman Funeral Home in St. Clairsville on Sunday from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. and 6 to 9 p.m. with Masonic Services at 3:15 p.m.

Services will be held on Monday at 11 a.m. in the funeral home with Pastors Jerry Garloch and Curt Hallstrom officiating.

Full Military Honors will be conducted by the Belmont County Council of American Legions on Monday at 11 a.m.
