Obituary

Thomas W. Campbell, 76, of St. Clairsville, Ohio passed away very suddenly at Cleveland Clinic on Monday, November 20, 2017. He was born July 31, 1941 in Bellaire, Ohio to Robert and Ella Dunfee Campbell. Tom worked for 21 years as a buyer at LS Good, Inc in Wheeling, WV and for 22 years as the Purchasing Director for Belmont Community Hospital in Bellaire. He served as a Sergeant in the U.S. Army. He was a graduate of Bellaire High School in 1959 and attended Ohio University's Branch Campus. Tom was an active member of Thoburn United Methodist Church and served as chairman of SPRC and as an usher. Also, he was a member of Ionic Lodge # 438 F. & A.M. in Bellaire. He was preceded in death by his son, Chad C. Campbell; his parents, Bob and Ella Campbell; a sister, Christine Smith and a nephew, Michael Campbell. Tom is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Ruth E. Campbell; his daughters, Cara and Jeff Dragan of Frederick, MD and Heather Campbell of Moyock, NC; his grandchildren, T.J. and Amanda Adams, Taylor and Wayne Clark, Sara and Katie Dragan, Brooke Adams, Eliana, Lily and Adin Bales and Logan Swetz; great grandchildren, Natalie and Addison Adams and Tommy Clark; his brothers, David (Sally) Campbell and Ronald (Louise) Campbell; a brother-in-law, Fred Smith. He also leaves behind much loved nieces and nephews, and many friends. All who knew him will never forget his kindness, generosity, compassion and his wonderful sense of humor. His children, grandchildren and great grandchildren meant everything to him! He will be remembered with so much love and laughter that their lives and the lives of all they touch will be better for knowing him. Family and friends will be received at Toothman Funeral Home in St. Clairsville on Friday from 2 to 8 p.m. and again on Saturday from 10 a.m. until time of services at 11 a.m. with Pastors Adam Davis and Tom Jones officiating. Burial will follow in Powhatan Cemetery, Powhatan Point with Full Military Honors conducted by the Belmont County Veterans Association. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Tom's memory to Thoburn United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 4, St. Clairsville, OH 43950 to support the youth programs.
