Suzanne Cecelia (Schafer) France, 73 of Bridgeport, OH formerly of McMechen, WV. passed away Wednesday, October 23, 2024, at Liza's Place in Wheeling.  She was born April 21, 1951, in Wheeling, WV, the daughter of the late Lawrence (Pete) and Virginia Schafer.

Suzanne was formerly employed in the office of J.C. Penney Co. and WesBanco in the bankruptcy department.  She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Wolfhurst, Ohio and a member of the St. Joesph Catholic Women's Club.

Suzanne was a loving, devoted wife and mother who dedicated the same level of love and care to her family and the people she met and worked with.  She had a definite flair for cooking and baking.  Suzanne was an avid sports fan and followed the Notre Dame Fighting Irish and Pittsburgh Steelers, dressing in team colors on game day.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother Larry Schafer and her sister Mary Virginia Coss.

Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Alan France of 51 years, and her daughter Christine (Chris) Kukor.

Family and friends will be received on Wednesday, October 30, 2024, from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm, with a Vigil Service at 2 pm, at Toothman Funeral Home, St. Clairsville, OH.  Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be Thursday, October 31, 2024, at 10:00 am at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 68210 Neola Ave., Bridgeport (Wolfhurst), OH 43912 with Father John Mucha, the Celebrant.
