Susan Lynn "Suzie" Gabel, 79, of St. Clairsville, Ohio, died November 6, 2021 in Wheeling Hospital.

She was born September 19, 1942 in Martins Ferry, Ohio, a daughter of the late Alfred and Waneta Britton Acker.

Suzie was a retired hairstylist having worked at Kaufman's in St. Clairsville and Bunny Covey in Wheeling and a former employee of Hart's in Lansing. She was a past president of the Red Devil Mom's and the St. Joseph's in Wolfhurst Catholic Women's Club and a former Girl Scouts leader.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a nephew, Jamie Acker.

Suzie is survived by her loving husband of 48 years, George D. Gabel; two children, Bob (Cheryl) Gabel and Erin (Ernie) Cain; five grandchildren, Ben Gabel, Bailey Cain, Robbie Gabel, D.J. Milligan, and Jared Cain; and a twin brother, Glenn J. (Margie) Acker.

Family and friends are invited to the Funeral Liturgy with Mass that will be celebrated on Thursday at 1 p.m. at the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church in Barnesville, Ohio, with Father Dave Cornett as the celebrant. Burial will follow in Union Cemetery, St. Clairsville.
