Steven Douglas McGilton, 58, of St. Clairsville, Ohio died Sunday, March 11, 2018 at his home.

He was born December 30, 1959 in Wheeling, West Virginia, a son of the late Mary Jane McMahon McGilton and William C. McGilton.

Doug was a former employee of the Wheeling Nisshin Steel Co. in Follansbee, West Virginia. He previously was the recording secretary of United Steel Workers of America, Local #1280 and former president and state trustee of Fraternal Order of Police Associates Lodge #13 and a member of Thoburn United Methodist Church.

In addition to his parents, Doug was preceded in death by his fiancée, Katherine Mae Ecker.

Surviving are a brother, Allen (Mary Margaret) McGilton of St. Clairsville; two sisters, Connie (Dave) Barries of Bethesda and Nancy (Dave) Orr of Belmont; 8 nieces and nephews; many great nieces and great nephews; a step-daughter, Maxine (John) D'Andrea and three step-grandchildren, Luke, Alyssa and Logan.

Family and friends will be received on Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m. at Toothman Funeral Home in St. Clairsville, and again on Thursday from 10 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in Union Cemetery, St. Clairsville.
