Steven Lawrence Balint, 72 of Belmont, Ohio, died May 30, 2022, after an extended illness at Ross Heart Hospital in Columbus, Ohio.

He was born on October 1, 1949, in Wheeling, WV a son of the late Steve and Florence Gatti Balint.

As a child Steve attended Uniontown Elementary School and Fairpoint Middle School and was a 1967 graduate of St. Clairsville High School and a 1971 graduate of Ohio University. He worked as salary clerk for Hanna Coal Co. and Consol Energy after graduation until his retirement in 2009.

Steve was an assistant minister and organist at the Christian Apostolic Church, always serving the Lord and his community. Steve was a history buff especially interested in military history. He enjoyed OSU Buckeyes and Pittsburgh Steelers football. But most of all, he loved his family and spending time with them at home.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Diane Balint Hearn; and his grandparents, John and Mary Gatti.

Surviving is his loving wife of 51 years, Linda Sells Balint; two children, Tracy (Mark) Kanzigg of Neffs, Ohio and David (Michele) Balint of Las Vegas, Nevada; a brother, William (Carolyn) Schaal of St. Clairsville; granddaughters, Marissa and Madison Balint of Las Vegas, Nevada; and several nieces and nephews.

A private visitation and service will be held for the family and their church family at the Christian Apostolic Church in Taplin, Ohio on Tuesday 10 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m. with Brother Dan Ponzani officiating. Burial will follow in Union Cemetery in Morristown, Ohio.
