Steve Joseph Kurucz, 89 of St. Clairsville, Ohio died Thursday, March 29, 2018 at Wheeling Hospital.
He was born August 31, 1928 in Brady, WV, a son of the late Steve Kurucz and Agnes Patsy Kurucz.
Steve was a retired coal miner from Y&O Coal Company Nelms #1 mine and courier for the former Belmont National Bank in St. Clairsville, a member of Kingdom Hall of Jehovah Witnesses, and a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War.
He enjoyed caring for his lawn, gardening, fixing cars, and driving his truck.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Violet Vernesky, and a brother, Arthur Kurucz.
Surviving are his wife, Emma L. Vargo Kurucz; two children, Sharon McCabe of St. Clairsville and Mark (Kim) Kurucz of Morristown; four grandchildren, Kelle Tansmore, Kyle (Samantha) McCabe, Dusty Kurucz, and Kevin (Angel) Akers; four great grandchildren, Grace, Braxton, Zoe, and Axl.
Friends will be received on Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m. at Toothman Funeral Home in St. Clairsville.
A memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family with interment to follow in Union Cemetery, St. Clairsville.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Kingdom Hall, 53025 High Ridge Rd., Bridgeport, OH 43912-9715.
