Stephen Edward Hegedus, 63 of St. Clairsville, Ohio died Thursday, May 3, 2007 at Ohio State University Hospital in Columbus.
He was born July 16, 1943 in Martins Ferry, Ohio. A son of the late Stephen Anthony Hegedus and Alice Jean Tisko Hegedus.
He was a retired employee of Nickles Bakery, a 7 year Army veteran having served during the Vietnam Era, a member of St. Mary?s Catholic Church and the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie # 2541 in St. Clairsville.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Stephanie Hegedus.
Survivng are his wife, Marie "Fritzi" Rafferty Hegedus; a daughter, Laura Lee Dayton (Bernard) Ferguson of McGaheysville, Virginia; three sons, Larry V. (Ina) Dayton of Fort Knox, Kentucky, Terry M. (Joan) Dayton of Bethesda, Ohio, and Steven M. Hegedus of Memphis, Tennessee; three sisters, Lynn Lucas of Middleburg Heights, Ohio, Faye Roth of Wheeling, West Virginia, Tara Goff of Shadyside, Ohio; a brother, Gene Hegedus of Lansing, Ohio; 5 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
Friends will be received at Toothman Funeral Home in St. Clairsville on Sunday from 2 to 4 & 6 to 8 p.m. where services will be held on Monday at 10:00 a.m. with Father Christopher Foxhoven officiating. Burial follows in Union Cemetery, St. Clairsville.
Fraternal Order of Eagles will conduct services at 6:00 p.m. Sunday and there will be a vigil service at 7:30 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home.
