Martin Edward "Sonny" Barnes, Jr., 60 of Willow Grove Rd., Bellaire, died Sunday, June 1, 2003 at his home. He was born March 19, 1943 at Bellaire. A son of Rose Marie Florek Barnes and the late Martin Edward "Chuck" Barnes, Sr.

He was a retired employee of Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corp. at Beech Bottom, a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church at Neffs, and Drummer and Singer of the Deep Down Country Band.

Surviving in addition to his mother of Bell Nursing Home ; are his wife, Judith Clark Barnes; a son, Martin Daniel Barnes and his wife Amy Jo of Colerain; a daughter, Heidi Lynn Brown and her husband Gary E. of Centerville; two brothers, Mitch Barnes and Bob Barnes both of Neffs; three sisters, Marlene J. Cramer of Neffs, Carole R. Figura of Willow Grove, and Beverly A. Santini of Uniontown; two grandchildren Kayla June Barnes and Logan Daniel Barnes; several nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received at the Toothman Funeral Home in St.Clairsville on Wednesday from 1 to 9 p.m. A Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be celebrated at the Sacred Heart Church in Neffs on Thursday at 11:30 a.m. with Father Gary Zalenski the celebrant. Burial follows in Union Cemetery St.Clairsville.

There will be a vigil service at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home.
