Obituary

KANZIGG, Shirley A., 73, of Neffs, Ohio passed away Wednesday morning, October 12, 2011 at her home.

She was born in Bellaire, Ohio, on March 22, 1938, a daughter of the late Joseph Polivka and Edna (Kucera) Polivka.

Shirley dedicated much of her life to working with children. She was a proud den mother of Neffs Cub Scout Pack 116 for nearly four decades, and she served as librarian/story hour teacher at the former Neffs Public Library. Many summers, she could be found hosting her annual Cub Scout Day Camp or teaching Vacation Bible School at nearby churches. Additionally, Shirley was an active member of the Ladies Christian Fellowship at the St. Clairsville Christian Church.

Surviving are her husband, Lester Kanzigg; 2 sons, Mark (Tracy) Kanzigg of Neffs and Wayne (Amy) Kanzigg of Reynoldsburg, Ohio; a sister, Mary Jane (Polivka) Brown of Key/Bellaire; 2 grandsons, Kyle Kanzigg and Michael Kanzigg; and a granddaughter, Madeline Ciejko.

Family and friends will be received on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Toothman Funeral Home in St. Clairsville, where services will be held on Saturday at 11 a.m. with Pastor Curtis Hallstrom officiating. Interment follows in Holly Memorial Gardens, Pleasant Grove, Ohio.
