Shirley Kay Ambrose, 81, of St. Clairsville, Ohio died August 9, 2020 in Wheeling Hospital, Wheeling WV.

She was born July 7, 1939 in St. Clairsville, a daughter of the late W.K. Turner and Anna Virginia McCombs Turner.

Shirley was a 1957 graduate of St. Clairsville High School, she earned her bachelor's degree from Ohio University and a master's degree from the University of Dayton. She retired from St. Clairsville-Richland City Schools after teaching for 35 years. Shirley was a member of Thoburn United Methodist Church. She enjoyed her grandchildren and great grandchildren, travelling, walking and the outdoors.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Mary K. Ambrose; her son-in-law, Jimmy Baugh; two sisters, Virginia Sickles and Betty West; and two brothers, Robert and Calvin Turner.

Surviving are her two daughters, Elizabeth Norden and Amy Baugh; two grandchildren, Christopher (Allie) Baugh and Alison (Mike) Muklewicz; five great grandchildren, Ryah, Lex, Kash, Bane and Deklan; a sister, Barbara Broadhead; and her two cats, Dre and Marshall.

There will be a Private Graveside Service to be held at the convenience of the family in Union Cemetery, St. Clairsville with Rev. Tom Jones officiating.  Arrangements are entrusted to Toothman Funeral Home in St. Clairsville.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the St. Clairsville Friends of the Library or the Belmont County Animal Shelter.
