Sherry Ann Connor Carter, 55, of St. Clairsville, Ohio, passed away on Tuesday, October 20, 2026, at WVU Wheeling Hospital in Wheeling, West Virginia.

She was born on November 30, 1970, in Cambridge, Ohio, a daughter of June Meager Connor and the late Paul Connor.

Sherry was a former employee of Cox Lumber and a bartender at Kitty’s Bar, both in Brooksville, Florida. She was an excellent cook who enjoyed crafts and art. She also loved dancing and singing karaoke. A truly a one of a kind soul that burned so bright that it would make your soul shine.

In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her brother, John Connor.

Sherry is survived by her mother, June Connor; her husband, John Ray Carter Sr.; her son, Wyland Carr; her daughter, Stephanie Nicole Lemmon; her brother, Donald Roby; her grandson, Charles Allen Lemmon III; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Family and friends will be received from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Monday, October 26, 2026, at Toothman Funeral Home in St. Clairsville, Ohio.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, a local food pantry, or an animal shelter or rescue of the donor’s choice.
