Sherman Waterman, 86 of Glencoe died Tuesday, March 7, 2006 in Glencoe.

He was born September 2, 1919 in Warnock, a son of the late Sherman Waterman and Annabelle Richards Waterman.

He was a retired employee of East Ohio Regional Hospital in Martins Ferry, a member of the World Wide Church of God, and an Army veteran of WWII.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Joan Farrand Waterman; brothers, George and Everett Waterman; half brother, Ernest Early.

Surviving are four daughters, Gail Rivera of Kerman, California, Cathy Doty of Orville, Ohio, Ruth Homan and Janice Jeffers of Glencoe; two sons, Lorne Waterman of Glencoe and Dale Waterman of Springville, New York; 10 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.

Friends will be received at the Toothman Funeral Home in Jacobsburg on Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. where services will be held at noon on Friday with Dan Cheatham officiating. Burial follows in Warnock Cemetery.

The Belmont County Council of American Legions will conduct services at 6 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home.
