Obituary

Shawn McKinney Ramsay, 40, of Powhatan Point, Ohio died September 14, 2021 in Wheeling Hospital.

She was born April 5, 1981 in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, the daughter of James McKinney II and Sandra Clabaugh McKinney.

Shawn was a case supervisor at the Augusta Levy Learning Center and at the Switzerland of Ohio Schools. She was a member of the Monroe County Autism Awareness Committee, D.G South Hills Sorority and the Miracle League of the Upper Ohio Valley.  Her favorite teams were the Baltimore Orioles and the JMU Dukes. Shawn was a constant student, always learning. She loved animals, enjoyed crafting and painting, had a desire to make sure everyone had a place to fit in, but most of all loved spending time with her family.

She was preceded in death by her grandfathers, Raymond Clabaugh,  Earl Weaver, and James McKinney, a grandmother, Shirley McKinney; Uncle Terry McKinney; and Cousin Corey McKinney.

In addition to her parents, James (Cheryl Boyer-Gilligan) McKinney II and Sandra McKinney, she is survived by her loving husband of 14 years, Marty Ramsay; two children, Tripp, and Eliza Ramsay; a brother, Duane (Rick) McKinney-Berry; niece Monica McKinney; grandmother, Arlene Weaver; aunt, Stacey Fehr; cousins, Jennie and Harley; Aunt Sue (Brian) Trumpower; Cousin Andy (Amber) Trumpower; Uncle Pat McKinney; Uncle Mike McKinney; cousin, Mark Howarth; mother and father-in-law, Cathy and Martin Ramsay; a sister-in-law, Jessica (Jeremy) Crawford; nephew and niece Aaron and Zoey; many other family and friends.

Family and friends will be received at Toothman Funeral Home in Jacobsburg, Ohio on Friday, Sept. 24 th from 4 – 7 p.m. and again on Saturday, Sept. 25 th from 5 p.m. until time of service at 6 p.m. with Pastor Michael Kelley officiating.
