Sharon Louise Kyle, formerly Sharon Louise Neal, died May 20, 2026, in Westerville, OH. She was 79 years old.
Sharon was born in Dayton, OH on December 10, 1946, to Stanley Neal and Ruth Neal, formerly Ruth Graybill. The oldest of Ruth and Stan’s three daughters, Sharon grew up in Brookville, OH before the family moved to Beavercreek, OH in 1955. She graduated from Beavercreek High School in 1964. She then attended the Ohio State University, where she earned her Bachelor’s Degree in 1968. She later earned a master’s degree in education from The University of Dayton.
At OSU, Sharon met her husband, William “Bill” Elwood Kyle. They were married July 6, 1968. They moved to Cadiz, OH in 1970, where they resided together until 2019, when they moved to Westerville, OH. They had a son, Brandon Nicholas Kyle, in 1982. Shortly after moving to Cadiz, she began working as a teacher at Cadiz High School, and later Harrison Central High School. She taught math and was loved by many students until her retirement in 2005. She also served several years as a girls volleyball coach and an academic challenge team coach, and she also helped direct several plays and musicals.
Sharon loved reading, gardening and flowers, playing games, working puzzles, crocheting, and other crafts. She was a member of the Presbyterian Church of Cadiz for many years, and she volunteered after retirement with the prayer shawl group. Later in life, she especially took joy in her two grandchildren, as well as spending time at the beach when visiting them.
Sharon is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and her sister Carol Souza. She is survived by her son Brandon (Melanie) and grandchildren, Eleanor and Finnegan, of Winterville, NC; her sister Sandy (Bob) Calhoun of Fort Collins, CO; her brother-in-law Tom (Patti) Kyle of St Clairsville, OH; and many well-loved nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. She will be dearly missed by her many loved ones, but we rejoice in knowing her suffering is ended and she has been reunited with her beloved Bill.
Family and friends are invited to attend a memorial visitation on Sunday at Toothman Funeral Home, St. Clairsville from Noon until time of funeral services at 2 pm with a eulogy reading from Brandon Kyle and a prayer from Dr. Bob and Sandy Calhoun. Private burial will be held at Union Cemetery, St. Clairsville at the convenience of the family.
