Shadyside ? Sgt. John Henry Osman II lost his battle with cancer on November 6, 2209 at home at the age of 39. He was born on May 22, 1970 in Columbus, Ohio.
Following high school graduation he served abroad as a Petty Officer - Navigation Specialist in the U.S. Navy from 1990 - 1994. From 1994 - 2009 he served in the Ohio Army National Guard as an 88M/92G. He received his Associate of Science degree from Ohio University.
He was a decorated veteran of the Navy and Army as well as a recipient of Air Force Commendation in 2007. John served in Operation Desert Strom and Operation Iraqi Freedom. John also gave humanitarian service in Nicaragua during Operation Horizons. He was in preparation to deploy for a third foreign tour with the 1-137th Aviation Battalion, OHARNG when his condition was discovered in December of 2008.
In addition to his parents, Virgil (Jake) and Darena (Dinkie) Yeager he is survived and sadly missed by one brother, James (Jenny), three sisters, Ann (Danny), Amanda (Steve) and Candace (Paul); five nephews, Daniel, Eric, Robert, Dakota, Andrew and Gunner; three niceces, Mackenzie, Haleigh and Allura.
An Honor Guard Service and Memorial will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, November 14 at 3460 Lincoln Avenue, Shadyside, Ohio. All are welcome to attend.
