McGAUGHY, Sara Margaret, 95, of St. Clairsville, died on Friday, March 21, 2014 at House of Hearts in St. Clairsville.

She was born in St. Clairsville, Ohio, on July 17, 1918, daughter of the late Lincoln A. and Margaret Hess Ridgeway.

Sara was a retired school teacher for St. Clairsville Richland City Schools. She was a member of Thoburn United Methodist Church in St. Clairsville; a former member of Concord Presbyterian Church in Centerville; a member of the Retired Teachers Association; a member of Zeta Chapter of Alpha Pi Sigma Sorority in Bethesda, American Legion Auxiliary in Bethesda; and a member of Weyer Chapter 515 Order of Eastern Star in Centerville.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Loyd McGaughy and her brother, Robert Ridgeway.

She is survived by her son, James McGaughy of Columbus, Ohio; daughter-in-law, Viy; grandson, Michael McGaughy of New Jersey; niece, Joyce Wiley of Columbus, Ohio and nephew, Thomas McGaughy of Wheeling, West Virginia.

Family and friends will be received on Monday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the Toothman Funeral Home in St. Clairsville, where services will be held on Tuesday at 11 a.m. with Rev. Dr. Bradley Call and Rev. Wayne Ickes officiating. Burial will follow in Concord Cemetery, Centerville, Ohio.

Weyer Chapter 515, O.E.S. will conduct services on Monday at 7:30 p.m. in the funeral home.

Sara's request was in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.
