GHEEN, Sanford W., 86 of Glencoe Rd., Belmont, Ohio died Sunday, October 28, 2012.
He was born July 31, 1926 in Elm Grove, WV., a son of the late Carl Gheen and Lillie Gatten Gheen.
He was a retired heavy equipment operator for Ohio River Collieries, and a Navy veteran of WWII.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Golden Mae McCloud Gheen; a sister, Dolores Burton; brothers, Frankie and Raymond Gheen.
Surviving are two sons, Frederick A. (Mary) Gheen and Rodney L. (Carol) Gheen of Belmont, Ohio; a sister, Caroline (John) Gianangeli of Bellaire; brothers, Manuel (Barbara) Gheen of Rainbow Ridge, Ohio, Vincent of Florida, and Floyd "Doc" (Darlene) Gheen of Arizona; 7 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild.
Friends will be received at Toothman Funeral Home in Jacobsburg on Wednesday from 2 to 4 & 6 to 8 p.m. where services will be held on Thursday at 11 a.m. with Pastor Jeff Lewis officiating.
