Sandy Vincek, 71, of St. Clairsville, OH died at Forest Hill Nursing Home on Friday December 5 ^th .

Sandy was born at home in Maynard, Ohio, to the late Frank and Blanche Vincek, where she grew up, along with her surviving brothers, Johnny and Jimmy.  Sandy and her brothers became wards of the state in 1993 after their mother died.  She and her brothers were placed under the guardianship of their family friend, Louise Hurn, until 2007 when Louise passed away.  Since then, Sandy has been under the guardianship and care of her friend, Dave Callipare, and his wife, Bonnie.

Sandy worked for Belco Crafts/Works from the time it was established and retired in 2018.  She was a laundress for the School of Hope and also performed light housekeeping duties at the facility.  Even with her "limitations" Sandy was a fine and fruitful member of our community.  Sandy was the maternal influence in her brother's lives after the loss of their mother.  She never forgot about those who went before us and demonstrated her conviction by faithfully placing flowers on the graves of her family and her friend Louise on Memorial Day and for the Christmas season every year.

There will be a 10:00 a.m. viewing on Thursday followed by services at 11:00 at Toothman Funeral Home in St. Clairsville, followed by a private graveside service. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, social distancing and facial coverings are required.
