Sam J. Zavacky, 74, of St. Clairsville, died May 29, 2019 at his home.

He was born in Midway, Ohio, March 19, 1945 a son of Kathryn Kasik Zavacky and the late Sam Zavacky.

Sam was retired from Consolidation Coal Company.  He was a member of Calvary Presbyterian Church and a member and past master of Belmont Lodge # 16 and current Weyer Lodge #541 F. & A.M.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his grandson, Dominick "Dom" Nardo; a brother and sister-in-law, Dennis & Daryl Zavacky; and mother-in-law and father-in-law, Helen and Cosmo D'Angelo.

Surviving are his loving wife, Linda Cheroka Zavacky; two daughters and sons-in-law, Lynette (Jon) DeBertrand and Janelle (Tony) Nardo; a grandson, Jacob DeBertrand; a sister and brother-in-law, Ruth (Stanley) Kolanski; and lifelong friend, Bill Tomich.

Private services were held at the convenience of the family with burial in Union Cemetery, St. Clairsville.
