Ruth L. Soles, 82, of Burwood Drive, St. Clairsville, died Friday, Oct. 31, 2003, at Park Health Care Center in St. Clairsville.
She was born Oct. 24, 1921, in Woodsfield. A daughter of the late Wilbur Rothacher and Martha Hamilton Rothacher.

She was a member of the Church of Christ in St. Clairsville.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Alston W. "Skiggs" Soles.

Surviving are a daughter, Karen Lucas and her husband George of St. Clairsville; two sisters, Rosemary Schultz and her husband Bud of New Paris, Ohio, and Dolores Horner of St. Clairsville; grandchildren, Amy Sheppard and her husband Brian of Winston-Salem, N.C., and David Lawson of Fairport Harbor, Ohio; great grandchildren, Matthew and Jill Sheppard.

Friends will be received at the Toothman Funeral Home in St. Clairsville on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., where services will be held on Monday at 11 a.m., with Everett Hutson officiating. Burial follows in Holly Memorial Gardens, Pleasant Grove.
