Ruth C. Saffell, age 85, of Armstrongs Mills, Ohio, died Monday, November 1, 2004 at East Ohio Regional Hospital, Martins Ferry, Ohio.

She was born May 28, 1919 at Armstrongs Mills, daughter of the late Charles E. Jackson and Ila Leona Landers Jackson.

Ruth was a homemaker and a member of Armstrongs Mills United Methodist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Delbert C. "Perry" Saffell in 1980; a daughter, Joan Carol Saffell and two sisters, Margaret Metcalf and Mary Kocher.

Surviving are her son, Jim Saffell and his wife Linda of Jacobsburg, Ohio; three granddaughters, Stephani Saffell, Michelle Pratt and Sheri Fillon; two great grandchildren, Kristin Snider and Michael Pratt; and a great great grandson, Wiley Michael Pratt.

Family and friends will be received on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Toothman Funeral Home in Jacobsburg, where services will be held on Thursday, November 4, 2004 at 11 a.m., with Michelle Lucarelli. Burial will follow at Armstrong Cemetery, Armstrongs Mills, Ohio.
