Ruth E. Marling, 93, of Shadyside, Ohio died Monday, July 3, 2017 at Liza's Place in Wheeling, WV. She was born in Bellaire, Ohio April 17, 1924 a daughter of the late Roy J. and Wilma L. Strahl Dutcher. Ruth was a loving mother and grandmother that was devoted to her family. She was a member of East Richland Evangelical Friends Church. In addition to her parents, Ruth was preceded in death by her husband, William R. Marling; a granddaughter, Tawnya Calagis; a sister, Almedia Fluharty; and two brothers, Melvin and Frank Dutcher. Surviving are her three daughters, Marianne (Thomas) Finan of Bellaire, Ohio, Judith (Louis) Calagis of Matthews, North Carolina and Penny (Gary) Kaldor of Shadyside, Ohio; eight grandchildren; seventeen great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. Family and friends will be received at Toothman Funeral Home in St. Clairsville, Ohio on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Visitation will also be held at East Richland Friends Church, St. Clairsville on Friday from Noon until time of Service at 1 p.m. with Rev. Wayne Ickes and Rev. Jerry Wenger officiating. Burial will follow in Belmont County Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Ickes Family Life Center at East Richland Evangelical Friends Church or the East Richland Christian School.
