Ruth Lenore (Edson) Hare, 92, formerly of St. Clairsville, OH, passed away on Wednesday, July 12, 2023, at Park Village Assisted Living in New Philadelphia, OH. Ruth was born December 12, 1930, in Wheeling, WV, the only child of the late Walter and Lydia Edson.

Ruth is retired from the Belmont County Chest Clinic. She also worked for many years as Nursing Supervisor at Bell Nursing Home in Belmont, Ohio and Ohio Valley General Hospital as a registered nurse.

She leaves behind her husband of over 70 years, John R. Hare, 5 children, and their spouses: Richard (Kelly) Hare,  Christine (Jeff) Hansen, Lisa (Chuck) Rest, Jeffrey (Cindi) Hare, and Dana Hendrix, 10 grandchildren: Megan Steel, Julie Rest, Tyler Hare, Meredith (Tyler) Hansen Ammons, Matthew (Kayla) Hansen, Hannah Hendrix, Audra Hendrix, Marshall Hansen, Coryn Hendrix, and Emma Kim-Hare, and 4 great grandchildren, Kylie Steel, Kassidy Steel, Karley Steel, and Hazel Ammons.

A service will be held at a later date. Arrangements are entrusted to Toothman Funeral Home in St. Clairsville, Ohio. Memorial contributions may be made to Community Hospice of Tuscarawas County or the Dover Public Library in Dover, Ohio.
